The family here at "My Personal Trainer School" takes great pride in helping to educate men, women, and children about health and fitness each day.
And sometimes it's an even greater feeling when we are able to come together as a team with all of our readers to support other worthy organizations that are also in the business of helping.
In the links below, you'll find some notable charitable organizations, worthy causes, and fun events all aimed at helping those less fortunate.
Your support is appreciated even if it means just spreading the word.
Thanks in advance,
Boh

I can't remember a time when my family didn't have a dog, or two, or three. So, it isn't surprising that my brother, in addition to being a Physical Therapist (health and fitness run in the family), also runs the Boston Chapter of Underdog ResQ.
This non-profit organization helps to find foster homes and permanent homes for good dogs that might otherwise be euthanized. Please visit the UnderdogResQ.com website to learn how you can help our furry friends.
Please join my former client and friend Dawn Timlin and her husband Mike Timlin of our Boston Red Sox in support of the 5th Annual Sharon Timlin Memorial Event on Saturday, June 21st, 2008.
The 5K Race/Walk begins at 9am at Hopkinton High School in Hopkinton, MA and will be followed by post-race food and refreshements, games and prizes, and appearances by members of our Boston Red Sox.
Proceeds from this event help The Angel Fund in their support of research for a cure for ALS. To find out more about how you can help and to register for the 5K Race, please visit the Sharon Timlin Race website. Hope to see you there!
My good friend Risa and her friends at Team Isshin lost someone close to them to Lupus. Saying it was sudden, frightening, and shocking would be an understatement. After doing some research, Risa and her team figured out how to help with The Alliance for Lupus Research.
Their aim is to raise awareness and donations to prevent, treat, and find a cure for Lupus through medical research. I'm truly inspired by what she's been doing now for years. Great job Risa!
For the past few years, I've had the opportunity to work closely with Michael Seril, 2006 NSCA Personal Trainer of the Year.
Mike has been doing wonderful things in his community with his non-profit organization Excellence Through Exercise. The last time I hung out with Mike, he and his staff made it possible for 1,200 kids to go to a Dodgers game.
In addition to events like that one, ETE delivers workshops, field days, and educational events teaching kids and their parents about staying fit and healthy for better futures.
As many of you know, I'm very proud of where I grew up...Framingham, MA. So, it always strikes a special chord with me when childhood friends make such huge contributions of their time and efforts to making a difference.
Three friends, Judd, Tony, and Mike got together to found StopLeukemia.org, a non-profit organization helping to support individuals, families, and friends who have been impacted by leukemia.
They each have their own stories about how leukemia has impacted their lives and it's wonderful to see how they've taken action now to help others.
