Fibromyalgia Exercise to Relieve Fibromyalgia Symptoms"Using Fibromyalgia Exercise To Relieve Fibromyalgia Symptoms"
Correct fibromyalgia exercise can help to relieve discomforting fibromyalgia symptoms. The key is knowing which exercises are safe and what exercise variables will help to avoid the pain normally associated with the ailment. Here, we'll take a look at exercises appropriate for those just starting workout routines. You can try these either in the comfort of your own home or at the health club. Core and Abdominal Fibromyalgia Exercise Core exercise targeting the abdominal muscles, obliques, and the lower back is important for everyone. The stronger your core is, the stronger your upper and lower body will be in pushing and in pulling. Not to mention that your midsection will look tighter, you'll lose stomach fat, and your clothes will fit better. Considering the symptoms of fibromyalgia and the resulting pain, I have found that my clients experience the best results and least pain by using fewer repetitions on movement exercises and holding for shorter periods of time when performing isometric exercise. Typically, for the core movement exercises, we have used 2 - 4 sets consisting of 6-10 repetitions. With newer trainees, we always begin with bodyweight exercise. For the isometric exercises, we again begin with bodyweight with holds ranging from 15 - 30 seconds for 2 - 4 sets. It is important to remember that each client will have varying fatigue thresholds as well as pain thresholds, so do listen to your body during and after exercise. Examples of Core Exercise for Fibromyalgia Our first core exercise is the reverse crunch. We tend to use this with our clients because it keeps the neck in a neutral position to help prevent injury and discomfort in that area. Abdominal exercise number two represents a beginning level and an intermediate level. The half plank and the plank should both initially be held for a period of 30 seconds or less when considering fibromyalgia symptoms. Holding these positions for too long of a time period usually results in discomfort in the shoulders, neck, and sometimes the lower back. Other Treatment Options As research continues to be conducted, more fibromyalgia treatments are becoming available. One such resource comes to us from out Healthy Back friends.
