"Back Strengthening Exercises and Stretches for Lower Left Back Pain"
Lower left back pain seems to strike almost everyone at some point in their lives.
Sometimes it cures itself in a day or two and other times the pain can be both chronic and debillatating.
If you do suffer from the latter, it's advisable to seek out the opinion of a medical professional -- prefarably your primary care physician or a referred specialist.
Once you've been cleared for exercise, we'll obviously want to identify and eliminate the cause of lower back pain.
In many cases (but not all), it is a matter of muscular imbalance.
That means that some of the muscles, usually around the hip, are either too tight, too loose, or a combination of the two.
Anterior pelvic tilt is one of the more common examples of musculo-skeletal imbalance at the hip joint.
In anterior pelvic tilt, the muscles of the hip flexor and the lower back muscles are shortened and tightened.
To compound this, the abdominal muscles and the hamstring muscles are usually much weaker and can be elongated.
This position can force the hips forward. To counteract the off balance position, we tend to arch our backs, creating increased pressure along with additional lower right andor lower left back pain symptoms.
Addressing the Imbalance with Lower Back Pain Exercise...
Correcting the imbalance requires a combination of stretching the hip flexors and lower back muscles along with strengthening the abdominal muscles and the hamstring muscles.
