"Starting Personal Trainer Business"

Starting Personal Trainer Business: Becoming Independent

Starting Personal Trainer Business...It is the dream of many Personal Trainers worldwide to "be their own bosses" and one day reap the rewards of ownership of their own Private Fitness Studio or franchise.

Chapter #6: Table of Contents

The intent of Chapter #6 of My Personal Trainer School is to introduce you to a few key concepts that will make your ultimate ownership decisions much less stressful.

Here's what you can expect to learn in this section:

  • Pros & Cons of Owning a Franchise vs. Opening your own Fitness Studio
  • Understanding Demographics & Choosing a Location
  • Developing a Business Plan & Creating a Budget
  • Deciphering Your Insurance Requirements
  • Improving Your Hiring Practices
  • Creating Outstanding Teams
  • Continuing the Education of your Staff and Yourself

Before You Start a Personal Trainer Business...

It is important to remember that every Personal Trainer will begin his or her career in a different environment.

We highly recommend beginning your career "under the umbrella" of a health club or private training facility and with the guidance of a mentor who has been in the industry longer. The knowledge and experience you gain here will prove to be invaluable when it does come time to open your own facility or franchise.

It will also open your eyes to what your likes and dislikes are and will get your gears turning on what works most efficiently for you in terms of team building, organization, sales techniques, fitness program design, facility upkeep, and business marketing, among other things.
