Weekly Workout Schedule/Routine

I have started going to a local gym to workout four times a week, about two months ago. I am 6-4 and weight of 290, with past heart issues, by-pass surgery 2.5 years ago.

My first priority is to lose weight but also enjoy working with the weight machine and free weights. With the time allotted for my workout 4 days, how can I maximize my time with a doable routine/schedule. I am currently using the treadmill for about an hour each visit and use the weights/machines after.

I work the chest,triceps and legs Monday and Thursday; and back, shoulders and biceps on Tuesday and Friday. The reps go 12-10-8 with increasing the weight.

I have seen some changes but can easy be attributed to go to the gym on a regular basis. Don't really know if this routine/schedule is for me. Looking for assistance.
